from TCC’s past. If you have any to share please give or send them to Phyllis

attention at the church. If you want your photos returned, be sure to put your
name on the back. Thanks for your help.
Please Note: There will be no Junior Church on Homecoming Sunday. All 1st
through 5th grade children should sit with their family or an adult.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
The congregational meeting to vote of the leadership
ballot will be held on Sunday, September 12 following the Morning
Worship Service. All members are urged to be there for this important
meeting. A sample ballot will be published soon.
NEW YOUNG ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS BEGINS SEPTEMBER

Gaye Walk will begin teaching a new Sunday School
Class on September 12. The class is especially aimed at those young adults
currently not attending a Sunday School class. See Gaye or Dianne Bunn if you
have any questions. The class will meet in the downstairs meeting room.

Please Note: September 12 is National Grandparents
Day. It is also the second Sunday of the month and the children from Junior
Church will be in the Morning Worship Service. They will be “adopting” some of
the adults that day by giving cards and asking if they can sit with you. You
may be chosen by one of the children.
OUTREACH MINISTRY
The next Outreach Ministry meeting will be Thursday,
September 9 at the Chick-fil-A on Hugh Howell Road in Tucker. If you
are interested in reaching out to our community in any way, please plan to be
there. Come at 6:00 PM if you would like to eat or 6:30 for just the meeting. ATTENTION
ALL COOKIE BAKERS! Please see Cheryl Ward if you can help out by baking
cookies for the fire and police departments serving the Tucker community.

SOAR MINISTRY CHRISTMAS ANGELS
TCC will once again provide Angel Bags to Soar
Ministries for distribution at Christmas to children in Mexico and Haiti. There
are already ladies who are busy making the bags, but more help is needed in
making them. We also will need helpp to fill them up. You can choose one of two
ways to fill them: you can fill a bag yourself; or you can make a financial
donation and the Ladies Ministry will purchase items to fill the bags. See Kathy
Inscho for a bag to fill or to make a donation or if you can help sew
the bags. We already have the material for them. The bags will be filled at the
next Ladies Ministry meeting on Monday, November 1 at 7:00 PM.
A
SURPRISE CELEBRATION
A meal and celebration honoring Cris Garcia’s 40 years on
the Mission Field is being planned for Saturday, November 13 at 12:30 PM. Be
sure to mark this date on your calendar and plan to join in the celebration
which will take place at Southwest Christian Church in East Point. Cost is $25
per person, $30 after September 19, with $5 from each reservation going towards
a Cris J. Garcia Scholarship Fund being established in her honor. Dianne
Bunn is coordinating the reservations from our congregation so be sure to see
her no later than Wednesday, September 15 to make your reservation. You may also contribute to the scholarship
fund and you are invited to write a note sharing a special memory of Cris,
either funny or inspirational. Cris is a long time friend of TCC and the
Bethshean Mission is one of the missions we support. Let’s plan on a having a
good TCC representation at this special celebration
2011 CALENDARS

Once again the
Education and Youth Ministry will be selling calendars as a fundraiser and the
2011 ones have been received. Be sure to see Cheryl Ward if you would like to
purchase one or would like to help out in selling them. The cost is still $6
each.
